Shane van Gisbergen dominated on Sunday, but his closest competitor, Michael McDowell, faced mechanical issues that cost him a fair shot at victory. McDowell started strong, winning Stage 1 and leading with hopes of ending a winless streak. However, a stuck throttle forced him to give up the lead and finish disappointingly in 32nd place. Despite McDowell’s setback, van Gisbergen claimed the race win. McDowell expressed frustration over the mechanical failure but looks ahead to the upcoming race at Sonoma with optimism, where he finished second last year.
